Human Trisome Project

You can participate in one of the largest and most comprehensive studies of Down syndrome in the world in Mission, Kansas!

The Human Trisome Project (HTP) aims to significantly increase the speed of Down syndrome research and the understanding of its co-occurring conditions from congenital heart defects to cognitive dysfunction.

If you are a person with Down syndrome between six months and 89 years old, you can participate. Already participated? We'd love to see you again!

Designed to be the largest and most comprehensive study of its kind, the HTP will help us understand why individuals with Down syndrome (caused by trisomy of chromosome 21) are protected from some medical conditions, such as cancer, while highly predisposed to others, such as Alzheimer's disease and autoimmune disorders.

You can participate in the HTP and receive a FREE hearing test! The Crnic Institute and Boys Town National Research Hospital are teaming up to learn more about hearing and balance in Down syndrome. Learn more below.
