You can participate in one of the largest and most comprehensive studies of Down syndrome in the world and get a FREE hearing test!
Researchers at the Crnic Institute and Boys Town National Research Hospital are working together to better understand hearing and balance in Down syndrome.
This study is open to individuals both with and without hearing loss.
This research study offers a single appointment to test your hearing and give a biological sample. Participants will receive hearing and balance test results and join one of the largest biobank studies for Down syndrome research.

Learn More About Our Research Study
You can help scientists better understand how hearing and balance develops and improve hearing and balance healthcare for individuals with Down syndrome of all ages. Participants provide researchers with access to biological samples and health information to answer specific research questions.
People with Down syndrome:
Between the ages of five to 65 years
Do not wear a cochlear implant
Participants must be accompanied by a study partner.
1. Complete game-based hearing and balance tests and receive immediate results
2. A simple blood draw, a quick mouth and/or nose swab and allowing researchers access to your health information
Compensation is provided for both studies.
Do you only want to participate in the Human Trisome Project (HTP)?
You can participate in the HTP without receiving a free hearing test at the NDSC Annual Convention.
