4th Annual Youth Summit | An all Immunology & Microbiology Science Experience

03/07/2026 | This year's Annual Youth Summit featured Immunology and Microbiology focused science experiences. This free summit was open to students and their families from 3rd grade to college. Throughout the event, Attendees had the chance to participate in engaging workshops, learning about non-enveloped or enveloped virus resistance to soap, antigen/antibody specific interactions, and the microbes that ferment foods and make up your microbiome. In addition, professionals in healthcare and STEM industries were present to support inspiring learners to explore careers in medicine, STEM, and related fields. Volunteers who led this event were Katharine Wilhelmsen, Desiree Straign, Emma Cox, Avishi Singh, Thomas Carrillo, Kalyn Barton and Dr. Linda van Dyk.
