Britney joined the HCTU team in July of 2025, bringing with her a diverse background in biomedical research and a deep personal motivation to advance scientific discovery. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University (2017), where she studied Biological Science and also Human Nutrition and Pre-Medicine.
Before joining HCTU, Britney contributed to multiple research initiatives at the University of Colorado, including work with the Primary Care Diabetes Lab, the Clinical Research Support Team (CReST), and the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. Her earlier research experience also includes studies in peanut genetics and germplasm enhancement at the USDA, as well as parasitology research at Oklahoma State University.
Britney’s passion for research is rooted in personal experience—her father’s autoimmune condition sparked a lifelong interest in medical research and a commitment to contributing at the earliest stages of innovation.
Outside the lab, Britney enjoys cooking, traveling, and playing golf with her husband of six years, Chris. She also finds joy in spending time with their two beloved rescue dogs: Lemon, a 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel/Yorkie mix, and Potato, a 4-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd.
