Our Vision: Brain Health for Life.

The Department of Psychiatry's Clinical Strategic Plan’s mission is to deploy state-of-the-art clinical services, to deliver a full range of mental health and behavioral health interventions for patients and their families. This is being accomplished by pursuing a set of goals that fall into eight broad categories with Education and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion woven through each of the categories.  The categories include:

  • Partnerships - Deepen partnerships with mental health providers and entities locally, throughout the state, nationally, and internationally.
  • Technology Innovation – Create innovative care models using technology to improve access, quality, and patient and provider satisfaction.
  • Innovative Care Models - Instill a department wide commitment to expanding the use of multidisciplinary teams in all its programs. Multidisciplinary includes administrative staff as well as faculty.
  • Outcomes - Improve data collection and data informatics to develop and demonstrate excellence in clinical care.
  • Healthy Workplace Culture - Improve recruitment, retention, and support of department faculty and staff by improving the system in which they work.
  • Continuum of Care - Build, enhance, and evaluate services to ensure the continuum of care across the lifespan, settings, and health–illness experience.
  • Infrastructure Improvement - Build, enhance, and evaluate services to ensure the continuum of care across the lifespan, settings, and health–illness experience.
