Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Mission Statement

The University of Colorado Department of Neurosurgery will uphold the mission and vision of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Community Engagement and will add the following:

The Department of Neurosurgery is a pluralistic department committed to building a more diverse and inclusive community and cultivating equitable healthcare practices. We recognize the importance of diversity and work to promote the richness of our cultures in all aspects of our work and the care we provide. We believe diversity and inclusion are necessary to achieve academic and institutional excellence. Therefore, we are committed to creating and sustaining environments where the richness of our differences is celebrated and where cultural sensitivity is at the forefront. To that end, we will uphold and adhere to the University of Colorado School of Medicine Diversity Plan, The UC Health Environment of Mutual Respect, and the UC Health DEI Action Plan.
