Volunteer Clinical Faculty Ranks


Members of the Volunteer Clinical Faculty series may attain the following ranks: Clinical Instructor, Senior Clinical Instructor, Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, Clinical Professor, or Distinguished Clinical Professor. Faculty ranks are determined by the member's educational background, post-professional training experience, and achievements in teaching or mentorship.

Volunteer Clinical Faculty appointments and current rank are reviewed on an annual basis by the Office of Medical Education.

Promotions


If you are interested in a promotion within the Volunteer Clinical Faculty, please reach out to the Office of Community-Based Medical Education.

All requests, including the required documentation, for initial appointment or promotion to the ranks of Associate Clinical Professor, Clinical Professor, or Distinguished Clinical Professor must be submitted to the Office of Community-Based Medical Education and reviewed by the School of Medicine Clinical Appointments/Promotions Committee.
