Types of Surgery

Our burn center strives to provide exceptional care for all patients that we see. Accordingly, we provide both inpatient and outpatient services in one location. A team of medical specialists work together to treat your unique burn, wound, and frostbite conditions. Conditions we treat include:

  • Thermal burns
  • Electrical burns/ Lightning injuries
  • Chemical burns
  • Frostbite
  • Necrotizing fasciitis reconstruction
  • Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) / Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TENS)
  • Severe Hidradenitis suppurativa

Multidisciplinary Care

Our multidisciplinary care team is made up of surgeons (who have completed both burn and critical care training), registered nurses, registered dieticians, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, burn technicians, psychiatrists, and pharmacists. These professionals blend their expertise to maximize your recovery and your quality of life; striving to bring patients back to their pre-injury functional state. Advanced technologies we utilized to achieve these results include:

Split and Full thickness skin grafts 
Spray on Skin Cell grafts (epidermal skin grafts) Cultured Skin Cell grafts (cultured epidermal autografts)
Bilayer dermal regeneration template grafts

In addition, burn patients may require ongoing scar and reconstructive therapies, such as scar release, Z-plasty and laser therapy. We offer both Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Carbon Dioxide Laser therapies to combat scar discoloration, itch, and scar tightness.
