Small Animal AISR

MRI, PET/CT and optical imaging are provided through the AISR.  The following services are provided at no or reduced charge to UCCC/ CCTSI members interested in pre-clinical imaging: 

  • Initial discussion of a specific cancer-related project with Dr. Serkova;
  • Design of imaging studies based on specific imaging endpoints;
  • Preparation and submission of imaging-based animal protocols to the IACUC. All imaging related SOPs  as well as a Master Imaging protocols have been pre-approved by the IACUC for expedited reviews;
  • Development, validation and quality control of novel imaging protocols;
  • Animal handling and imaging data acquisition during all imaging sessions;
  • Data storage and analysis;
  • Drafting imaging-based sections for NIH grants, NIH reports, and peer-reviewed publications;
  • Training and access to educational courses in Oncologic Imaging and Cancer Metabolism (courses are available at appropriate levels for PIs, post-doctoral fellows, residents, students and technicians); and on-site training on MR safety, system operation and data analysis;
