Neurodevelopmental and Neuropsychiatric Genetics Research Lab

The Neurodevelopmental and Neuropsychiatric Genetics Research Lab is a National Institutes of Health supported translational research program focused on understanding the developmental mechanisms underlying genetic and environmental risk for schizophrenia, with a view to identifying biological pathways for the development of new therapeutic treatments or targeted interventions. Work in the laboratory spans from humans to model systems, from genetics to circuits to cells, and incorporates studies across the lifespan- from pregnancy to aging. Our state-of-the-art research facilities are located in the Research Complex II at the Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Colorado. The laboratory is outfitted with advanced equipment for Confocal and light microscopy, slice and cell electrophysiology, cell and molecular biology and genomic approaches. A designated behavioral facility, provides cutting edge approaches to rodent neurobehavioral testing.
