The Department of Psychiatry’s Women’s Behavioral Health and Wellness Outpatient Programs provides comprehensive, personalized, trauma-informed care for women across the life span.  Consultation, treatment, groups, prevention programs and wellness workshops are available to women ages 18 and up. We specialize in women experiencing hormonal changes that affect mood, sleep, cognition (e.g., memory, focus, attention and organization), body image, sexual health and relationships. Our team of psychiatrists, psychologists and care coordinators collaborate closely with your health care providers to improve your well-being and resilience, and to reduce your risk for physical and mental health problems in the future. We provide specialized care to women experiencing any of the following issues:

  • Hormonal shifts affecting your mood, sleep, cognition/memory or sexual health.  Hormonal shifts may results from pregnancy, fertility treatment, PCOS, POF, menopause, medications, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, preventative surgery and other causes.
  • Pregnancy concerns such as infertility, perinatal depression and anxiety, pregnancy complications and loss, newborn complications & loss, pregnancy during or after cancer treatment, and other complex medical conditions, sexual health after delivery.
  • Menopause related changes in your well-being.
  • Chronic and life-threatening physical conditions, and health risks such as cancer and heart disease.  Early and advanced cancer.  Preparing for medical procedures.
  • Stress related to other physical conditions such as insomnia, chronic pain, auto-immune and gastrointestinal disorders.
  • A history of depression or anxiety at any time in your life and desire to reduce your risk for another episode.

The Department of Psychiatry’s Women’s Integrated Behavioral Health Services provides consultation and treatment within women’s health care settings at UCHealth and other locations. Our team collaborates with your health care providers to provide same day, integrated behavioral health care. Sessions are typically brief and limited to 6-8 visits.

We currently provide behavioral health services in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. If you are interested in a consultation, please ask your physician, nurse practitioner, nurse or care coordinator in that setting to introduce you to a member of Women’s Integrated Behavioral Health team member.
