Dr. Rebecca Keefer, PT, DPT, CCSgraduated from Pepperdine University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado in 2011. Becca has been practicing at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) for 11 years, primarily in the medical, cardiac, and cardiothoracic ICUs. She became a board certified specialist in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy (CCS) in 2017 and is passionate about promoting physical therapy in the ICU, improving outcomes for patients who are critically ill, and working closely with the heart and lung transplant teams. Becca has acted as a site coordinator of clinical education at UCH and enjoys facilitating both student learning and mentoring clinical instructors.
Becca is passionate about teaching both in the clinical setting as well as in the academic setting with the CU DPT program. She has taught primarily within the Medical Conditions courses but also acts as a Capstone instructor, assists with the Examination/Evaluation and Foundations of Intervention courses, helps coordinate the Acute Care Elective, and assists with the Clinical Reasoning III course. Becca is also a member of the clinical education team.
