Diversity Matters
We Value Diversity in People and Perspectives
The students, staff, and faculty of CUPT value diversity as a central component of the program’s educational, research and service missions. Evidence suggests promoting diversity and inclusion within health professions education:
- Enhances the quality of one’s education
- Promotes student, staff and faculty achievements
- Strengthens community partnerships
- Improves access to and use of health services
- Informs the development of innovative solutions that improve the health of our patients
CU PT’s framework for diversity reflects that used by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and recognizes historically underrepresented persons/groups in the areas of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, and ability status. This framework is coupled with added recognition of dimensions that speak to nationality, religion, socioeconomic status, geography, and other diverse experiences, perspectives and attributes that enhance our learning environments.
We are committed to providing equitable access to learning opportunities for all students, including those with disabilities who meet the technical standards of our program, with or without accommodations. If you are an applicant with a disability who would like to engage in a confidential consultation about disability access at CU or who requires accommodations to complete the application or interview process, please contact the
Office of Disability and Inclusion.
