Long Standing History

Founded in 1946, the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is one of the oldest departments of PM&R in the United States. Our program has graduated residents and fellows who have then accepted positions in private practice, academic positions, and fellowships.

As our graduates continue to the next step in their medical career we urge them to continue to deliver the highest quality of patient care, to providing quality education for rehabilitation and other health professionals, to stimulating and supporting rehabilitation research and to promoting community involvement to assure the rights of those persons whom we serve.
