Toddler Wellbeing Project - Proyecto de Bienestar Infantil Resumen
Research Interests:
Dr. Thompson is a physician scientist whose research seeks to address inequities in health among racial and ethnic minoritized populations and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. In an effort to inform the development of contextually and culturally-tailored interventions to promote healthy growth and development in early childhood, her work focuses on understanding social ecological contributors to early childhood lifestyle behaviors and their relationship with child growth. Recent work focuses on screen media use and sleep in the toddler age group. She also conducts health services research focused on optimizing the care of families with limited English proficiency. She is experienced in mixed methods and community-based participatory research approaches. Current and past studies were funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Dr. Thompson is co-Director of the Surgical/subspecialists Clinical Outcomes Research (SCORE) Fellowship at the Adult & Child Consortium for Health Outcomes Research & Delivery Science (ACCORDS) at the University of Colorado.
