Children’s Hospital is located on the Anschutz Campus, which has six health professional schools offering over 40-degree programs, including the school of Medicine, Public Health, and Schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Graduate studies. Our fellows have the opportunity to pursue educational or advanced degree programs at any of these schools during their fellowship.
Fellows regularly participate in multiple educational clinical and research conferences at CHCO throughout their fellowship years. A structured Infectious Disease curriculum led by faculty member, Dr. Donna Curtis, is in place with weekly educational sessions involving fellows and expert faculty in the topic area bring covered. Joint educational sessions with the adult Infectious Disease fellows and faculty are also part of the curriculum. Fellows present clinical and research topics at our weekly scheduled ID conferences involving students, residents, fellows, ID and Epidemiology faculty, and microbiologists.
The Section organizes several local day long conferences for pediatricians in the community and also sponsors a week long Pediatric Infectious Disease meeting held in Vail Colorado, which attracts physicians from around the U.S. and includes active participation by our fellows.
