As healthcare providers, we have a unique perspective on patient needs and we are also in a position to advocate for change in health care system delivery, social barriers, and policy. We believe it is part of healthcare providers' duty to be an advocate for patient needs beyond the biomedical model--through incorporating social factors of health into patient care. Our section pursues the advocacy part of our mission in diverse ways to support evidence-based policies that are good for the health of our patients.

Diverse Approaches to Advocacy

We pursue advocacy through our social media accounts, through meetings with our legislators, through testimony, through letters to the editor, and other avenues.
