Department of Pediatrics Ranked 8th in the Nation by U.S. News

The University of Colorado's Department of Pediatrics was ranked eighth in the nation for "Best Pediatrics Programs" by U.S. News & World Report. The Department of Pediatrics consistently ranks among the best in the nation. The Department has been ranked in the top eight in each of the past 10 years.
"This illustrates a tremendous collective effort on the part of all our faculty and staff. Our top-10 ranking is a demonstration of our campus partnerships with the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado," said Stephen Daniels, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair, Department of Pediatrics, CU School of Medicine, and pediatrician-in-chief, Children's Hospital Colorado. "We will continue to strive to provide the absolute best clinical care, research, education and advocacy that helps improve the health of children in Colorado and across the country."
The rankings were part of the "Best Medical Schools" rankings U.S. News compiles every year.
The University of Pennsylvania ranked first, followed by Harvard University. Johns Hopkins University was third, followed by the University of California San Francisco and the University of Cincinnati. For a full list of rankings, visit the U.S. News website.
In addition to the No. 8 ranking by the Department of Pediatrics, one other CU School of Medicine specialty program ranked among the best in the country -- Family Medicine was ranked No. 7. Additionally, the School of Medicine ranked No. 9 on the magazine’s list of best medical schools for primary care.
