IHQSE’s Introductory Training
Program in Quality Improvement (ITP) is a one-day course and emphasizes
fundamental principles and skills necessary to participate in
quality improvement initiatives in clinical settings. Many healthcare professionals are asked to participate in quality improvement and safety projects yet have no formal training. ITP is designed to provide a comprehensive
introduction to the fundamentals of quality improvement necessary to participate in successful quality improvement projects.
The course offers over 8 hours of content that covers the fundamentals of the quality improvement process and change management. This course teaches teams and individuals a wide variety of
improvement, leadership and change management techniques intended to begin to develop improvement leaders throughout the enterprise. Topics include an introduction to the different improvement methodologies and tools; hands-on learning activities;
an understanding of change, its impact on an organization and methods to manage it; and an introduction to data science.
