How to Apply

‚ÄčIdeal Candidates and Selection Criteria

Facilitative Leadership participants should be in formal leadership positions within a clinical practice, unit, or program on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Candidates may be physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, or administrators. We will consider applications from emerging leaders, who expect to receive formal leadership roles following completion of the program. The program is appropriate for managers and leaders who previously have undertaken formal leadership skills development, ranging from 1-2 day courses to extended (e.g., year-long) programs.

Facilitative Leadership is not designed for those with no prior managerial or leadership experience. We strongly encourage candidates in this group to apply to the Clinical Leadership Development Program.

Participant Expectations/Responsibilities

Facilitative Leadership emphasizes a set of foundational topics and skills that integrate with and build upon one another. Experiential learning methods, including small group work and simulations during sessions, draw upon theory embedded across the program. As a result, candidates must be able to commit to 100% attendance—which includes on-site presence and engagement for both days of the program. Participants will need to be freed in advance from clinical and administrative responsibilities during all Facilitative Leadership sessions.

All clinical faculty and staff who meet the requirements above and are employed on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus are eligible for the Facilitative Leadership.
