Facilitative Leadership Course

Co-sponsored by the Institute for Healthcare Quality, Safety, and Efficiency (IHQSE) and the Process Improvement Department at University of Colorado Hospital (UCH PI), Facilitative Leadership is a 2-day course that offers program participants a transformational learning experience that expands their ability to lead sustainable change, generate greater engagement in an era of change fatigue, and bring out the best in individuals and teams while achieving outstanding results. The program builds on concepts and skills covered in the IHQSE’s Clinical Leadership Development Program and Certificate Training Program.

Specifically, Facilitative Leadership advances leaders’ competence in 7 domains:

  • How to increase engagement through a compelling vision
  • How to balance and integrate work that improves processes, relationships, and attention to results
  • How to increase buy-in and accountability through greater team member participation in decision-making
  • How to design clearer “pathways to action” that allow team members to help you keep initiatives on track
  • How to more rapidly develop consensus that sticks
  • How to coach others to increase their performance
  • How to validate others’ success and celebrate success
