Since 1979, CU Orthopedics Adult Reconstruction section has
specialized in joint preservation and replacement for hips and knees. We
perform more than 1,500 joint replacements annually, and our combined
experience totals more than 100 years. We are a regional referral center
for primary and complex joint replacement procedures. Our team is
comprised of researchers and leaders, promoting the advancement of joint
replacement care locally and nationally.
By using cutting-edge technology including surgical navigation and
computer-assisted surgery, we offer minimally invasive surgery to get you back
to your life as quickly as possible. For example, we specialize in
the anterior approach to hip replacement. This procedure spares muscle and
tissue, allowing for faster recovery, improved mobility, and less pain.
We offer integrated joint reconstructive services with UCHealth,
where all physician care, testing, and therapy is provided in the same
locations by a core group of people. We also provide specialized care for
patients with complex medical conditions such as hemophilia and bloodless
surgery for patients who are Jehovah's Witness.
The Adult Reconstruction team provides advanced care of hip and knee pain caused by damage or degeneration of the joint surfaces. While arthritis is the most common condition we treat, our surgeons also specialize in treatment of joints that have been damaged by trauma, infections, congenital abnormalities, and avascular necrosis. We offer both operative and non-operative treatment options for patients with these conditions, and we perform a broad range of surgeries including:

I treat the full spectrum of hip and knee disorders with focus on arthritic conditions. This includes osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, inflammatory arthritis and painful previous joint replacements. I am a fellowship trained
adult reconstruction specialist with extensive knowledge in the above subjects. I am currently a faculty member at the University of Colorado hospital and am actively participating in research and new physician education to help advance the field
of Orthopedics and Joint Replacement.
I work with my patients on an individual basis to develop a care plan that suits their needs and desires. I firmly believe in treating the patient as a whole to enable them the best chance for recovering
function and improving their quality of life.
I am a native of Colorado and enjoy being outdoors skiing, hiking, and camping to name a few. I also enjoy spending my free time with my wife and children in this beautiful state.
