Competitive and recreational athletes of all types and ages receive comprehensive care for sports and related injuries at CU Sports Medicine. We treat athletes across the Front Range, encompassing care for hip & knee, hand, foot & ankle, elbow
& shoulder, and spine. That includes compartment syndrome, sprains and strains, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, and much more.
With radiology and rehabilitation services conveniently located on-site, our orthopedic specialists work alongside
these experts, as well as with certified physical therapists, to return patients quickly and safely to their normal activities.
At CU Sports Medicine, patients can have diagnostic tests and a physician's evaluation on the same day
in the same location. Our multidisciplinary team has two goals: a timely and accurate diagnosis, and the fastest recovery possible.

I continue to maintain a very active lifestyle with my family. I enjoy the activities I grew up with in Colorado including hiking, cycling, climbing and skiing. This carries over into my unbridled dedication of returning patients to their desired activity/sport.
In honor of National Doctor's Day, our team doctors want to thank you for doing your part in flattening the curve.
University of Colorado Boulder Director of Sports Medicine Dr. Eric McCarty conducts a telemedicine appointment with Gerald Thurston in his office on Thursday on the CU campus in Boulder. Thurston is suffering from a torn rotator cuff and had the telemedicine appointment instead of an in-person appointment in response to the current coronavirus pandemic.
Our sports medicine locations are actively engaging with telemedicine, serving new and returning patients.
