Research Interests
My research concerns the endocrine regulation of placental and fetal metabolism, and the developmental programming of cardiometabolic disease. In particular, my work focuses on the role of the placenta in mediating the effects of environmental factors like maternal nutrition, stress, obesity and hypoxia on intrauterine development. I am currently studying the role of fetal circulating microRNAs in the developmental origins of heart disease.​
