Dr. Maureen Stabio Leads the MHA Program
Dr. Maureen Stabio named Executive Director of the Modern Human Anatomy Program

Now that July 1st is here, we are proud to officially welcome Dr. Maureen Stabio as the new Executive Director of the Modern Human Anatomy program! Dr. Maureen Stabio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, a neuroscientist with a research focus in the structure and function of the retina, and is an award-winning educator, .
Dr. Stabio received her B.A. from Colorado State University, then completed her PhD at Boston University School of Medicine. In 2014, our home department, Cell and Developmental Biology, was fortunate enough to hire Dr. Stabio after her post-doctoral fellowship at Brown University, and the MHA program has benefitted ever since. Dr. Stabio served as the MHA Vice-Executive Director and Co-Director for many years and is an excellent position to take the helm of this dynamic program.
Dr. Stabio remarked, "It’s been a lifelong career dream to direct an anatomy program like ours, and I couldn’t ask for a more incredible group of students, faculty, and staff with whom to collaborate. To quote our new Dean, 'We are going to do many great things together!'"
We look forward to Dr. Stabio’s leadership as the MHA program continues to grow, innovate, and educate the most highly trained anatomists in the country.
