The University of Colorado Internal Medicine Residency program provides innovative educational opportunities to future internists and subspecialists. We pride ourselves on providing trainees with the freedom to individualize their curricular content and residency rotation selections according to their educational needs. This resident centered approach is exemplified by our educational matrix – residents choose one track: primary care, categorical, hospitalist, or the physician-scientist training program as well as one pathway: research, clinician educator, or health equities as the foundation for their educational programming. In addition, we have a point of care ultrasound training curriculum and a multilayered mentorship program. Our mission is for each resident to fully realize his or her potential and to train the future leaders of internal medicine. Our graduates select a variety of career paths and are well positioned to impact positive change in areas such as academics, patient care, education and public policy. Our program strives to prepare graduates to excel in their pivotal roles as physicians, researchers, teachers, and community leaders.
