Dr. Krajicek, a nationally known nursing educator in interdisciplinary education for care of children (and their families) with disabilities and chronic conditions, is Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Master in Public Health Dual Degree (DNP/MPH) and Doctor of Nursing Practice Public Health Specialty (DNP-MPH) Nursing programs. A grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Health Workforce and Public Health to develop the program (2013-2016). The University of Colorado program is among the first in the country to combine the DNP and MPH degrees.

She directs The National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care & Early Education (NRC). In 2011, she lead the NRC Team in the development of the third edition of Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards; Guidelines for Early Care and Education Programs (CFOC3) in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Public Health Association (APHA), and the Maternal Child & Health Bureau (MCHB). In 2012, the NRC team developed an online searchable database representing the CFOC3 standards.

In 2015 the NRC began a partnership with the National Center for Early Childhood Health and Wellness at the American Academy of Pediatrics. Since that time, the NRC has updated numerous CFOC3 standards to represent the most current evidence and best practice in health and safety. In 2019, the American Academy of Pediatrics published CFOC4 to represent many of the standard revisions completed since 2011. However, the NRC online searchable database remains the most accurate, up-to-date version of the CFOC standards, and can be found at: www.NRCKids.org.

Marilyn currently directs the Achieving a State of Healthy Weight (ASHW) project, a national assessment of obesity prevention content in child care regulations, funded by the CDC 2015-present.

Marilyn is the Director of Nursing (JFK Partners), Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (CO LEND), a program preparing inter-professional leaders in disabilities, Dept. of Pediatrics, School of Medicine.
