The Community Advisory Board (CAB) of the Colorado ACTU exists to enhance dialogue between researchers and individuals affected by HIV. Anyone with an interest in the HIV/AIDS research agenda is welcome to attend monthly CAB meetings. CAB Meetings are held on the last Friday of every month at 11:30 am at the
Leprino Building, 17th Avenue and Quentin on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Please call 303-724-0779 for more information or directions.
Specifically, the CAB aims to:
- Provide a local forum for individuals infected with or affected by HIV to discuss issues relating to feasibility, recruitment, access, community acceptability and other social or political factors in HIV/AIDS research.
- Encourage participation from diverse affected communities as identified by race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, or socioeconomic status.
- Solicit community feedback regarding University Hospital’s Infectious Disease Group Practice (IDGP) and its HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs.
- Communicate comments and proposals regarding research and treatment issues to ACTU researchers and UCH clinic staff
