Community Advisory Board (CAB)

The Community Advisory Board (CAB) of the Colorado ACTU exists to enhance dialogue between researchers and individuals affected by HIV.  Anyone with an interest in the HIV/AIDS research agenda is welcome to attend monthly CAB meetings. CAB Meetings are held on the last Friday of every month at 11:30 am at the Leprino Building, 17th Avenue and Quentin on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus.  Please call 303-724-0779 for more information or directions.

Specifically, the CAB aims to:

  • Provide a local forum for individuals infected with or affected by HIV to discuss issues relating to feasibility, recruitment, access, community acceptability and other social or political factors in HIV/AIDS research.
  • Encourage participation from diverse affected communities as identified by race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, or socioeconomic status.
  • Solicit community feedback regarding University Hospital’s Infectious Disease Group Practice (IDGP) and its HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs.
  • Communicate comments and proposals regarding research and treatment issues to ACTU researchers and UCH clinic staff
