Charles C. Gates is shown here with V-belts invented in the early 1900’s by his family’s company, which revolutionized power transmission. He was an engineer, a visionary leader and a philanthropist, who foresaw the potential of regenerative medicine and asked his children and others to do everything possible to make it a reality. His legacy lives on at Gates Institute, inspiring our dedication to revolutionize the safe and expedited translation of research in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine into therapies and cures for people worldwide.
