The Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) is a National Institutes of Health funded infrastructure to support shortening the lag time between discovery and routine use of knowledge to improve health.
Communities play an important role in partnering with researchers to identify knowledge gaps critical to the health of community members and further assist in the conduct, interpretation and dissemination of research findings.
To support this CCTSI’s Community Engagement and Research core funds Community Research Liaisons embedded in communities across Colorado, it provides training to students and faculty who wish to learn the principles of community engaged research, and it provides pilot grant funding to support early efforts to partner between community and academic researchers.
Our Department has played an important role in the CCTSI Community Engagement and Research core from its beginning.
