The School of Medicine (SOM) and the Children's Hospital Colorado are committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients.  We believe that our faculty and staff have the skills and creativity to provide leadership in clinical effectiveness and patient safety.  We have established this small grant program to help fund those promising QI initiatives.

The COEPS grant program is in its 9th funding cycle.  We encourage initiatives that put evidence into practice, implement innovative process improvements, and/or enhance skills and knowledge of healthcare providers.  The goal of each initiative is to improve patient safety and/or enhance the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare delivery.  Our goal is to do the right thing for the right patient at the right time for the right price.

We strive for excellence in the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Six Core Competencies for Quality Patient Care:  patient-centeredness, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, systems-based practice, practice-based learning, and medical knowledge.  The COEPS grant program offers grants of up to $25,000 for faculty and up to $10,000 for residents and fellows based at the Children's Hospital Colorado.
