We focus on epidemiological and clinical trials in the acute care setting, with a particular focus on early care of critically ill and injured patients. Our recent work incudes sepsis, respiratory failure, oxygenation strategies, and COVID-19. Our recent collaborations include the PETAL, SIREN, and IVY research networks. Our active projects are funded by NIH, DoD, and CDC.
Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness in the Critically Ill Network
Prevention and Early Treatment of Acute Lung Injury Network, funded by NHLBI. The goal of this application is to participate in the selection and conduct of clinical trials for the prevention and early treatment of acute lung injury across a network of 12 clinical centers. Our clinical center includes two academic and four community hospitals in the greater Denver area and a robust infrastructure for recruitment of critically ill emergency department and intensive care unit patients into clinical trials.
