The Center assists organizations with development of reliable and valid methodologies for assessment of emergency operations plans, NIMS compliance, regulatory compliance, and healthcare coalition building.
“If we can be more proactive on disasters
-- the way we fund them, the way we plan for them -- then we can have better preparedness, we can have more efficient responses, and the assistance is more effective in the end.” – Peter Walker, Director of the Feinstein International
Center; Rosenberg Professor of Nutrition and Human Security
In order to make response efforts effective, responders have to become competent in systems building, and competent in those practices proven effective to use during an extraordinary
event such as a disaster or emergency.
As a part of its mission, the Center specifically focuses on the needs of healthcare and medical workers and related sector entities. Using research into best practices, guidance, and standards, the Center
develops and delivers customized events, trainings, exercises, and drills that are effective in building collaborative systems, not silos.
