How Vagal GLP-1 Receptors are Necessary for the Hypoglycemic Effect of Exendin-4

Discover how orally administered Ex-4 improves glucose tolerance without systemic absorption by targeting localized intestinal GLP-1 receptors. This presentation will unveil sex-specific differences in GLP-1R function, revealing that vagal GLP-1R mediates glucose-lowering effects in males but not females. These findings provide critical insights into the mechanisms of oral GLP-1 therapies and could inform personalized metabolic treatment strategies.

Where:
Barbara Davis Center (M20), Level 2, Main Conference Room 2104
