Events

CU Diabetes Research Center (DRC) is dedicated to providing a dynamic platform for its members and diabetes researchers to learn about and exchange the latest developments in diabetes research. Through a variety of engaging events and initiatives with noted clinical, translational, and basic researchers from across campus and around the country, the DRC fosters collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing among researchers, clinicians, and students.

The following are major and regular CU DRC events:

  • CU DRC Speaker Series
  • CU DRC Research In Progress (RIP) Series
  • Annual Diabetes Day

Beyond the Known: Exploring Novel Islet Autoantibodies

While the four standard islet autoantibodies have been instrumental in identifying 70–90% of T1D cases, significant gaps in our understanding persist. The quest to predict T1D in at-risk individuals before clinical onset remains a major challenge. However, the exploration of novel islet autoantibodies could be the key to unlocking improved early detection and diagnosis—bringing us closer to more precise and timely interventions.

In this RIP presentation, Dr. Xiaofan Jia will take us beyond the known, delving into the exciting realm of novel islet autoantibodies. Join us as we explore how these discoveries could revolutionize our approach to T1D prediction, prevention, and treatment.

When: April 7, 2025, 12 pm to 1 pm
Where: Barbara Davis Center (M20), Level 2, Main Conference Room 2104

Speaker:
Xiaofan Jia
Research Assistant Professor
