Biostatistics - Grant Collaboration

Grant Collaboration

We offer statistical assistance while developing your proposal and our analytical support upon funding. We work with you as you develop aims to ensure they map to testable hypotheses. We also will work with you to develop an efficient study design and provide relevant statistical elements, such as sample size and power estimates, detailed analysis plans, and alternative approaches.

Examples of the assistance we provide:

  • Study aims to ensure your hypotheses are testable and match your proposed analyses
  • Study design to avoid unintended biases
  • Measurements that yield the most efficient design
  • Sample size justification to maximize chances of finding clinically important effects
  • Data analysis planning to map your analyses to the aims and develop new analysis tools when needed
  • Budget planning for your analytic needs

For an efficient proposal development process please get us involved as early as possible. Expect multiple interactions with the statistician during the development process. Developed proposals (e.g., clear aims, hypotheses, and endpoints) must be provided to the statistician at least 1 month prior to its submission date.

Budgets & Pricing

The biostatistician who helps with your grant development is required to have adequate analytic support budgeted in your grant application, which includes salary and benefits. Typically, biostatistical support is 10% FTE, but can vary depending on the level of effort required.
