The University of Colorado Cancer Center is pleased to offer pilot grant funding to support the development of exceptional research projects leading to the ultimate conquest of cancer and furthering CU Cancer Center objectives.

Current Open RFAs

Gabrielle's Angel Foundation

Two (2) Limited Submission opportunities available for outstanding junior faculty members – one who is conducting mainstream or conventional research and one who is conducting complementary or integrative research. Please review the attached RFA for a complete list of eligibility requirements and more detailed information regarding the types of proposals that will be entertained. Only one submission per institution is allowed for each of these opportunities. If you would like to be considered for one of these opportunities, follow the instructions and link provided in the RFA.

The UCCC is fortunate to work with organizations that are dedicated to supporting cancer research efforts on campus through funding pilot grants.

Internal Programs:

Golfers Against Cancer

The Denver Golfers Against Cancer partners with the Cancer Center with the mission of helping to fund efforts to find a cure for cancer. Pilot awards provide one year of funding to support innovative and collaborative projects.

The Golfers Against Cancer program is offered in the spring grant cycle with the RFA release anticipated in February.

Wings of Hope for Pancreatic Cancer Research

Donations and funding efforts of the Wings of Hope for Pancreatic Research are focused on sponsoring small, collaborative, and team science pilot awards focused on advancing research in pancreatic cancer.

The Wings of Hope program is offered in the fall grant cycle with the RFA release anticipated in July.

Catchment and Community Outreach & Engagement Pilots

The Cancer Center is dedicated to supporting innovative catchment-relevant research that has widespread impact throughout the state of Colorado. Please visit the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement webpage to learn more about cancer in Colorado and available funding opportunities.

Other

Funding is available to support the career advancement of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty. More information on training in the cancer center can be found on the Cancer Research Education and Training Coordination page.

The cancer center collaborates with the Vice Chancellor's Office of Research Development to nominate highly qualified candidates from the university to apply for cancer-focused limited submission opportunities.
