An individual has successfully completed the CU Anschutz Multidisciplinary Center on Aging’s (MCoA) Health Navigation Training Program if the following criteria are met: 1) all curriculum components are complete, 2) the participant has completed the pre and post-tests within Canvas, as well as course evaluations for each course/module and a final, comprehensive post-training evaluation.
Participants who complete the entire Health Navigation program are eligible to take the Colorado Health Navigator Competency Assessment given by Center for Advancing Professional Excellence (CAPE) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Those who pass the assessment are placed on an online registry maintained by CDPHE. (the assessment is an opportunity but not required).
Note: There is a two-hour booster class required by all individuals choosing to take the CAPE assessment.
Upon completion of the CU Anschutz Multidisciplinary Center on Aging's Health Navigator Training Program trainees are eligible to continue training as Older Adult Research Peer Specialists (OARS).
