Geriatric Fellowships

The work of the Multidisciplinary Center on Aging has been successful because of the professional expertise of the geriatric-trained clinicians who work with patients, community members and campus health professional schools to educate about the importance of geriatric work in our aging communities. The Division of Geriatrics, at CU Anschutz Medical Campus, offers one of the top geriatric fellowship opportunities in the country. Students have direct learning experiences in geriatric settings that include the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), Denver VA Medical Center, home-based primary care (VA), specialty primary care (UCH and VA) and long-term care facilities. Mentoring of the Geriatric Fellows is a top priority for Chair, Division of Geriatrics, Cari Levy, and Fellowship Program Director, Janna Hardland, with a clinician team, to ensure that fellows are properly trained, supported and encouraged to enter a rewarding medical career in geriatrics.

Allied Health Training

Geriatric Specialists are desperately needed in all aspects of health care delivery. At CU Anschutz Medical Campus’ Division of Geriatrics, a variety of clinical and educational opportunities are available to train practitioners in geriatrics that hold positions in nursing, pharmacy, psychology, social work, audiology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Also, one-year specialized programs are available specifically for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants interested in pursuing a geriatrics specialization. 

Grand Rounds for Clinicians and Researchers…All are invited

Professional Development in Geriatrics (Grand Rounds) 

On-going Education for all clinical disciplines is important to best serve older adults patients.  We invite all clinicians from the campus and community to participate in geriatric professional development.
