About the Award



The Jacqueline Leaffer Wish for the Heart Award is funded by generous support from The Jacqueline Leaffer Foundation. Its purpose is to support CU-SOM early career investigators (fellows, instructors & assistant professors) doing outstanding research in women's heart disease. This award, together with Jacqueline's Gift Fund, was established and funded to honor the life of Jacqueline Marie Leaffer. Eligibility



Eligible candidates will be evaluated on criteria appropriate to measure progress in research. Such criteria will include, but is not limited to research funding obtained, papers written, presentations delivered, discoveries made, peer recognition, leadership in the field and overall commitment to research. 

Purpose



The Jacqueline Leaffer Wish for the Heart Award is to support CU School of Medicine early-career investigators (fellows, instructors & assistant professors) doing outstanding research in women's heart disease.

Application Instructions


To apply, send your biosketch in current NIH format to carly.pilius@cuanschutz.edu. In the personal statement, include specifically how you plan to use the funds and, in lay terms, how this award will support your research in heart disease for women. Applications are due by 5pm on July 21, 2023.
