Background
Brian L. Stauffer, MD, received his BS in biology with a minor in computer science from Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia and his MD from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. He currently sees patients at Denver Health Medical Center.
Research + Funding
Dr. Stauffer received his first award from the Ludeman Center in 2006 and again in 2012 with the Jacqueline Leaffer Wish for the Heart Award. Both research projects focused on discovering more about sex differences in vascular function. He regards his experience with the Ludeman Center as being a supportive, welcoming environment with educational opportunities that focus on underrepresented areas.
Transforming Women’s Health
Dr. Stauffer’s interest in underrepresented populations is what motivates his work in healthcare. His current research priority is the mechanisms of heart failure and vascular disease, which disproportionately affects women.
