The Barnes team @ Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Colorado, Denver

The Barnes team is an integral part of Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine (CCPM) and the Division of Biomedical Informatics and Personalized Medicine (BIPM) in the School of Medicine.

We are heavily invested in the genetics and multi-omics of a variety of acute and chronic complex lung diseases as well as various allergic diseases and diseases of inflammation in ethnically diverse, family-based and independent populations across the Americas. Our primary focus is on populations of African ancestry, recruited both locally and from various national and international sites. Our data analysis team focuses on developing pipelines for analyzing high-throughput omics datasets and integrating those datasets to elucidate key factors contributing to risk and phenotypic changes involved in these diseases through the integration of bioinformatics, while providing high quality, reproducible, and economical research services to the internal and external scientific community through Colorado Anschutz Genetics Resource Organization (CARGO).
