AA professionWhat Is An AA

Certified Anesthesiologists Assistants (CAAs) are highly skilled, specialized healthcare providers who work under the direction of licensed Anesthesiologists within the Anesthesia Care Team Model as described by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). CAAs are trained extensively in the delivery and maintenance of safe anesthetics in all surgical specialties.

Where do AAs practice?

Anesthesiologist Assistants now work in twenty states. In those states where anesthesiologist assistants practice, they work under either delegatory provisions of a medical practice act or regulations derived from a medical practice act.
